English for Adult Learners (Pre-intermediate)

An English Language program for Junior adults and Adult Learners. The course consists of 6 levels from beginners to advanced learners. The course will develop the learners language skill in listening, speaking, reading and writing as well as improve their language efficiency in grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.

Course Description

English for Adult Learners হচ্ছে একটি Multilevel General English Course. এটি একটি Global Standard Communicative English Course যার মাধ্যমে শিক্ষার্থীরা Listening, Speaking, Reading এবং Writing এই ৪টি skill-এ ইংরেজি শিখবে ও চর্চা করবে এবং পাশাপাশি Grammar, Vocabulary ও Pronunciation-এও তাদের efficiency level হবে অনেক উন্নত। তাই এ কোর্সের মূল উদ্দেশ্য হচ্ছে শিক্ষার্থীদের English Communicative Skill-কে develop করা এরই সাথে তাদের ইংরেজির efficiency level-কেও improve করা।

Unit 1: Getting to know you

Grammar: Tense and questions – Asking questions. who’s and whose. Vocabulary: Right or wrong words. Reading: A blind date – A magazine features where two readers go on a date. Listening: Three types of friends we all need – Jess describes three friends, Speaking: Talking about you, what do you think? what happened next, Everyday English – Social expressions; Writing – Filling in a form – Filling in a personal form.

Unit 2: Let’s get together

Grammar: Present tenses- State verbs, have/have. Vocabulary: My perfect day – got have a lie-in, listen to music, shop for clothes. Reading: An independent quiz – A quiz that tells you how dependent or independent you are. Listening: Getting on with the neighbours – Two neighbours gossip about each other. Speaking: Talking about you, What do you think? Roleplay, Everyday English – Making conversation. Writing: An email – Linking verbs.

What I will learn

After the successful completion of this pre-intermediate level course, the  learners will be able to

  • communicate in moderate level of fluency
  • write in simple and plain English
  • produce simple connected texts on familiar topics
  • describe experiences and events, plans, hopes and ambitions
  • briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans
  • communicate in everyday situations
  • express themselves reasonably accurately
  • initiate and deal with familiar everyday interactions
  • link ideas into connected linear sequences

Total course duration

Course duration: 3 months; Total classes: 36 – 40 classes; Class frequency: 3 days a week (in alternate days); Class size: 16 participants; Class duration: 2 hours each; Class time: 9 am | 11 am | 4 pm | 6 pm | 8 pm | 10 pm; Weekend classes are available for busy learners.
